Dr. L. Karthigeyan, affectionately known as Dr. Karthi, is a highly skilled and passionate dentist who brings a wealth of experience and a unique artistic touch to his practice. He completed his primary and secondary schooling in Singapore, where his early exposure to dentistry under the tutelage of his father, Dr. Lokganathan, sparked his lifelong dedication to the field. Dr. Lokganathan is recognized as one of the earliest private dental practitioners in Ipoh, and his influence played a pivotal role in shaping Dr. Karthi's career.

Dr. Karthi earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Rajiv Gandhi University in India. During his five years at Babuji Dental School, he trained under highly regarded specialists, acquiring a solid foundation in various dental disciplines. Upon returning to Malaysia, he served as a Dental Officer with the Ministry of Health, gaining valuable experience at KK Kinta Perak, KK Kuala Kangsar, and KK Kampar.

In 2010, Dr. Karthi transitioned from the government sector to establish his own dental practice in Bercham, where he has been providing exceptional dental care ever since. His deep interest in artistic dentistry and a holistic approach has shaped his internal doctrine of treating each patient in a customized manner, ensuring personalized and effective care.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)

Dr. Pram Kumar Subramaniam is a distinguished Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with extensive experience in both clinical practice and academia. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2007. Following his graduation, Dr. Pram served in public dental services in Kedah for three years before becoming a Trainee Lecturer in the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Kuantan campus.

In 2013, Dr. Pram earned his Masters in Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Hong Kong. He has since been a vital part of the academic community, serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Oral Diagnosis at IIUM for the past 14 years. Since 2016, he has also been serving as an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon at Sultan Ahmad Shah Medical Centre, providing specialty care at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels.

Dr. Pram further specialized with a one-year clinical subspecialty attachment in orofacial oncology, cancer ablation, and maxillofacial locoregional reconstruction at Hospital Kuala Lumpur and the National Cancer Institute in Putrajaya, completed in 2021. His dedication to the field extends to postgraduate student supervision and research, with numerous publications in indexed and non-indexed journals. In 2022, he co-authored a chapter in the Intechopen textbook “Early Management of Dental Trauma in the Era of Covid-19.”

A respected speaker, Dr. Pram has presented at numerous local and international conferences. His commitment to community service is evident through his involvement in outreach programs providing dental and surgical knowledge both locally and internationally since 2013.

Currently, Dr. Pram holds the position of Head of the Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Oral Diagnosis at the Kulliyyah of Dentistry, IIUM, a term he has held since July 2023 and will continue until June 2025. His vast experience and commitment to excellence make him a valuable asset to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

BDS, Manipal

Dr. Devia Elangkovan is a dedicated and compassionate dentist who graduated from Manipal University College Malaysia in 2020 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). Her commitment to providing exceptional dental care has been evident throughout her career, marked by her tenure with the Ministry of Health (MOH) as a Dental Officer in Perak.

During her service with the MOH, Dr. Devia completed her attachments in the Maxillofacial Surgery and Paediatric Dentistry departments at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun. These experiences have honed her skills in managing complex dental cases and treating young patients with the utmost care and gentleness.

As a general practitioner, Dr. Devia excels in primary dental care and oral health promotion. She is proficient in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dental issues, and she is dedicated to helping her patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. Her goal is to provide a painless dental experience for all her patients, grounded in her belief that every patient deserves the highest level of care and professionalism.

Dr. Devia is committed to continuous learning and regularly updates her knowledge on modern dentistry by attending various dental courses. She has completed advanced training in Basic and Advanced Endodontics Management, Aesthetic Dentistry, and Periodontal Management and Therapy. This ongoing education ensures that she stays at the forefront of dental advancements and can offer the best possible care to her patients.
